The World

This is the largest map in the series, which has taken me 6 months to complete, or 209 days including a full time job, holidays and social life. Key moments in world history feature, and are arranged in chronological paths whilst sitting in roughly the relevant geographic location. I will add more images and info so please keep an eye on this space because this is a large piece. Here is a small section illustrating the Mona Lisa and the famous death mask from the Pharaoh Tutankhamoun. Please feel free to zoom into the images in the usual way.

The World Map detail - Mona Lisa

A small section of the North Africa, with Turkey, Italy, Greece and a small slice of the Levant.

The timelines in this map span over 5000 years of human history. Notable figures from history are depicted in large rooms, for example the image of George Washington below would be about 2.5 metres tall if this was a cross section through a real building in the shape of the world map! These spaces are grandiose naturally because the illustrate key figures/points in the history of whatever country they sit in. Ghana has a portrait of the first president, Kwame Nkrumah for example.
